Can I use PixelYourSite and Meta for WooCommerce at the same time?
Short answer
You can keep both installed, but only one of them should send the Meta pixel. If both send it, every PageView, AddToCart and Purchase can be counted twice, so switch the pixel off in one plugin.
Why it happens
- Both send Meta events by default. Each plugin is built to send the Meta pixel once it’s connected, and neither switches the other off.
- Both may send server events. Browser and server events are only deduplicated when they share an event ID. Two plugins generate their own IDs, so their events don’t cancel out.
- Catalogue sync confusion. Store owners often install Meta for WooCommerce for the product catalogue and PixelYourSite for tracking, without realising both track.
How to fix it
- Decide each plugin’s jobA common split: Meta for WooCommerce syncs the catalogue and shop, PixelYourSite sends the pixel and server events, or the other way round. Pick one for tracking.
- Switch off tracking in the otherIn the plugin you’re not using for tracking, turn its Meta pixel off in its settings, or disconnect its pixel while keeping the catalogue connection.
- Check the server connectionMake sure only the tracking plugin has the Conversions API connected.
- Clear cachesClear your caching plugin and any host or CDN cache so old pages stop loading the second pixel.
Check it worked
Use the Meta Pixel Helper on a product page: the pixel should load once. In Events Manager › Test events, a test order should show one Purchase, deduplicated if it arrives from both browser and server.
Common questions
Do I lose the product catalogue if I turn off one plugin’s pixel?
No. Catalogue sync and pixel tracking are separate settings in Meta for WooCommerce.
Does the same apply to Pixel Manager for WooCommerce?
Yes. Any two plugins sending the Meta pixel cause the same doubling. Keep one sender.
